Fiat has announced that it would stop selling gasoline and diesel-powered automobiles in the United Kingdom from immediately. The whole Fiat portfolio will be offered in electrified forms, ranging from hybrids to fully electric vehicles, beginning on July 1, 2022. These versions will be accessible worldwide. This modification will become active immediately.

More than sixty percent of Fiat’s lineup had been electrified by the year 2021, and buyers in the United Kingdom had access to at least one low-emission option of each car in the lineup. This year, the Italian manufacturer is taking things one step further by promising that all of its vehicles will be electrified beginning in July of 2022. This move comes after the company said earlier this year that it would take this step.

The journey toward electrification of the brand began with the introduction of the 500 Hybrid and the Panda Hybrid, continued with the launch of the fully electric New 500, and was most recently finished with the launch of the new 500X and the Tipo Hybrid.

Fiat is now offering at least one low-emission version of each model, and the company is taking another step toward the path of energy transition and sustainable mobility with its most recent announcement, which is that beginning this summer, only electrified models will be sold in the United Kingdom. Fiat is also taking another step toward the path of energy transition and sustainable mobility with its most recent announcement, which is that it will be offering at least one low-emission version of each model.

The preceding year had the biggest yearly rise in the number of registrations for electric cars, with an increase of 88.3 percent in the registrations for BEVs, a 43 percent increase in the registrations for HEVs, and an 18.5 percent increase in the registrations for MHEVs (YTD 2022).

Greg Taylor, the managing director of Fiat and Abarth UK, stated that “this moment in Fiat’s history represents a significant step in our commitment to deliver cheap and sustainable mobility solutions for all of our consumers.” Because of this modification, it will be much simpler for us to sell automobiles that are ideally suited for driving in urban areas, notably the New 500, which has been fairly popular over the last several years.

The New Fiat 500 is the first car in the Fiat portfolio to be created from the ground up to be a fully electric vehicle. This accomplishment marks a significant milestone for Fiat. The electric city car has a substantial driving range of up to 199 miles (WLTP), making it the electric city car with the longest range currently available on the market. The vehicle is equipped with a multitude of best-in-class features, such as Level 2 Autonomous Driving technologies, a selection of battery options (24kWh or 42kWH), and a substantial driving range of up to 199 miles (WLTP).

In addition, there are hybrid variants of both the Panda and the 500, which is currently in its second generation (also in its second generation). The former standard 1.2-liter engines that were found in both cars are going to be replaced with a brand-new electrified 1.0-liter one. A belt-integrated starting generator with 12 volts, a battery with 11 amp hours, and a three-cylinder engine with naturally occurring aspiration make up the powertrain.

Fiat has announced that it will be introducing the new 500X and the Tipo Hybrid in February of 2022. This will bring the company’s whole array of cars up to the point where they are all electrified.
