According to the statements that have been made by both Waymo and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), the current cooperation that already exists between these two companies will most likely be extended self driving fleet in the very near future. This prediction is based on the remarks that have been made by both of these companies. The remarks that have been made by each of these corporations served as the basis for this forecast’s formulation. This fact is supported by the claims that have been made up to this point in the discussion.

Waymo‘s fleet of autonomous cars is expected to increase by as many as 62,000 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid minivans over the course of the next few years as a direct consequence of this expansion. This prediction is based on the assumption that Waymo’s business will continue to expand at a rapid rate.

The completion of this extension is expected to take a considerable amount of time. Waymo believes that the first phase of the distribution of these automobiles will not begin any sooner than the second half of 2018, at the absolute earliest, and that this is their current best estimate. However, there is a possibility that this estimate might change in the future. In addition, this is the earliest start date that is even remotely achievable for this portion of the distribution.

The two businesses also made the disclosure that they had begun negotiations regarding the prospect of embedding Waymo’s technology for autonomous driving into a car that was built by FCA. This information was included in the announcement.

Concurrently with the broadcast of this piece of information, a notice was issued letting people know that they had already started having talks. This action was carried out according to the plan, which was in agreement with the event that had been mentioned before. Retail consumers will be able to get this car via the use of a licensing agreement, and the two businesses have the objective of making this technology accessible to the entire public in the not-too-distant future.

In a recent interview, Sergio Marchionne, Chief Executive Officer of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, stated that the company is “committed to providing self-driving technology to our customers in a manner that is safe, efficient, and practical.” Marchionne was speaking on behalf of the company’s mission to “provide self-driving technology to our customers in a manner that is safe, efficient, and practical.” Marchionne was questioned on the organization’s future objectives concerning autonomous driving technology. Now serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Marchionne has held this position in the past.

“Strategic partnerships” like the one the company has with Waymo, according to a statement made by the firm, will aid in “pushing breakthrough technology to the forefront of the market.”

It was speculated that the two businesses would be working together in 2016, and in the same year, engineers from FCA and Waymo collaborated in order to include self-driving technology into the design of the hybrid car that Waymo was creating at the time. Because of an announcement that was made in 2016, the partnership was not made public until 2017, since this announcement caused a delay in its disclosure to the general public until the year in question.
